We get asked lots of questions about our service and you can find brief answers to the questions we are most often asked below.  Of course, if we haven't answered your question here just ask!

Why English Only?	We speak English as our first language and it's always easier to launch a complex site like in one language first.  Have no fear - we plan to launch in Spanish and German soon.  By the way, if you can help with translations in return for advertising here on our other portals please let us know.
Can I change the information in my advert?	At the moment we need to do this for you.  Once the Spanish and German versions are live you'll be able to log in and change your advertisement at any time.  For now, drop us an email with the change(s) you need and we'll get them done within 3 working days.
Are you hiring?	Yes.  We are always looking for energetic and self motivated people to join our sales team in Lanzarote.  Positions are self employed and commission based.
How does the site work?	It's a sophisticated combination of Google Maps technology, our own advanced source code built with the Microsoft .NET Framework and a big SQL Server 2008 database.  We won't spill the beans on how all the scripts work but we are glad you like it!
Who owns the site?	The site is owned and was developed by Nick Bird who lived on the island for a while and built the original site using classic ASP.  It was redeveloped in mid-2009 using .NET.
How much does it cost to advertise?	Nothing.  The site is free of charge for all site visitors and is also free of charge for businesses who want a basic advertisement on the maps.  Upgrade options are available such as your logo in the pop up map entries and higher positions in the results listings.  We have sponsorship opportunities available (such as banner advertisements) but the service itself is free for all users.  Of course, if you like it and it benefits your business you can buy Nick a drink!
Can I link to your site?	Of course!  We prefer organic text links and so "Lanzarote Maps" or "Street Maps of Lanzarote" or "Lanzarote Street Maps" should be the text if possible and you should always link to our home page.  Drop us a line and we'll be happy to supply banners and link code if you'd like us to do some of the work for you.
I need help!	We have tried to make our sign up process as easy as possible, however, if you have any problems, our team will be able to assist you.  Please contact us if you get stuck.
Is this site "official"?	No. We don't want to give the impression that we are an official map site for Lanzarote but we are as close as it gets!  We strongly support tourism in Lanzarote and we have used our strong platform and brands to benefit businesses on the island since 2003.
