Why English Only? |
We speak English as our first language and it's always easier to launch a
complex site like in one language first. Have no fear - we plan to launch
in Spanish and German over the coming weeks. By the way, if you can help
with translations in return for advertising here on our other portals please
let us know.

Can I change the information in my advert? |
At the moment we need to do this for you. Once the Spanish and German
versions are live you'll be able to log in and change your advertisement at any
time. For now, drop us an email with the
change(s) you need and we'll get them done within 3 working days. |

Are you hiring? |
Yes. NISCO is always looking for energetic and self motivated people to join
our sales team in Lanzarote. Positions are self employed and commission
based (although you will also be expected to promote our free services as well).

How does the site work? |
It's a sophisticated combination of Google Maps technology, our own advanced
source code built with the Microsoft .NET Framework and a big SQL Server 2008
database. We won't spill the beans on how all the scripts work but we are
glad you like it! |

Who owns the site? |
The site is owned and was developed by Ladybird Internet Ltd. Our Managing
Director lived on the island for a while and built the original site using
classic ASP. It was redeveloped in mid-2009 using .NET and made to interoperate with the
Lanzarote Search Engine
and other sites in the
Lanzarote Business Network. |

How much does it cost to advertise? |
Nothing. The site is free of charge for all site visitors and is also free
of charge for businesses who want to advertise on the maps. We have
sponsorship opportunities available (such as banner advertisements) but the
service itself is free for all users. Of course, if you like it and it
benefits your business you can

Why is it free? |
We pride ourselves on delivering low cost services to businesses in Lanzarote by
reusing code developed for customers in Europe and the UK. We also
own all the software that powers our services and so we don't
pay anyone else development or code. Of course, by using
this service you are now aware that NISCOWeb is the
web site hosting company in Lanzarote
and you might decide to pay to use some of our other services such as web design
and web application development. |

What's the catch? |
There isn't one. We used to charge for advertisements on our maps
but we don't anymore. It's 100% free of charge. See the answers to the
questions above! |

Can I link to your site? |
Of course! We prefer organic text links and so "Lanzarote Maps" or "Street Maps
of Lanzarote" or "Lanzarote Street Maps" should be the text if possible and you
should always link to our home page. Drop us a
line and we'll be happy to supply banners and link code if you'd like us to
do some of the work for you. |

Will you link to my site? |
We don't clutter this site with links and banners but you are more
than welcome to add your business to the
Lanzarote Search Engine (which is also free of charge) and
investigate sponsorship of that site or other sites in the Lanzarote Business
Network if you wish. |

How many visitors? |
Some companies don't like to release visitor information but we pride ourselves
on the diverse range of visitors we receive and also of our number one
positions on Google, Bing, and many other top search engines. Our visitor
numbers are slightly seasonal (as you'd expect!) but we are always happy to let
you see our numbers - just visit our
Log Server (which is updated every
day). |

Is this site "official"? |
No. We don't want to give the impression that we are an official map site for
Lanzarote but we are as close as it gets! We strongly support tourism in
Lanzarote and we have used our strong platform and brands to benefit businesses
on the island since 2003.
